Pennsylvania Stimulus Quik Facts

  • Pennsylvania is eligible for $9.5 Billion in Federal Funding through FY 2011, with additional potential opportunities through competitive grants. (Federal Funds Information for States FFIS)
  • Pennsylvania will receive over $4 Billion in flexible funding which may supplant current state spending (Medicaid & the flexible part of the fiscal stabilization fund)
  • Over $5.5 Billion in formula funding is available to PA. The biggest pots are in transportation and the non-flexible, education spending. These are subject to rule-making by Federal Agencies like U.S. Dept. of Education.
  • Transportation funding is already arriving in PA.  Over $1 Billion is currently being applied to priority transportation projects with a 3-6 month completion window.
  • PA is eligible for $291 Million in Unemployment Comp. funding if it changes its eligibility requirements.
  • Over $100 Billion is available in competitive grant opportunities. The pots are small, spread out, and not real specific right now.[1]
