Harrisburg – A new website makes it easier for users of mobile devices to access legislative information, according to Sen. Kim Ward (R-39).
Ward said the website, www.palegis.us, is designed for users of mobile devices such as the iPhone, BlackBerry, and Droid. Visitors can use the site to contact members of the General Assembly, to search for bills by number or keyword, to read bill text, and to access information about legislative committees.
“Advances in technology continue to provide new ways to access and share information, and government must seize these opportunities to open up the legislative process to citizens,” said Ward. “Information is power, and expanding access to information about the legislative process is another way to empower citizens.”
The mobile website was developed by the Legislative Data Processing office. Suggestions for improvement are welcome and may be e-mailed to webmaster@legis.state.pa.us.
