Democratsโ criminal friendly bill not only gives 2nd degree murder convicts a chance for release but also gives ALL prisoners a โget out of jail free cardโ titled โmedical paroleโ meaning sexual predators like Jerry Sandusky would be eligible for release for any number of reasons.
I was honored to speak and present a citation at the dedication ceremony for US Marine Corps Lance Corporal Vincent Piscar Jr. VFW. Post 33 had a railroad trestle in Greensburg, very close to where Corporal Piscar lived, named in his honor. There were a lot of his relatives and friends there, including his niece Alisha DโAstolfo who serves as the Commander for Post 33. It truly was a beautiful ceremony. Corporal Piscar was killed in action on July 19, 1968 while clearing enemy mines from a road. You can see and etch his name at Panel 51W, Line 14 at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall. Our nation owes never ending thanks for his sacrifice and for every veteran who has served our great country.
It was great to attend @bridge.educational.pa โs check presentation at Greensburg Catholic High School. The Foundation, with the support of Raymond James and scholarship funds from PAโs Educational Improvement Tax Credit & Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit programs, donated $35,000 of scholarships to families in Westmoreland County. Education is vital for our Pennsylvania students, and I am grateful for the Bridge Education Foundation, EITC & OSTC for their donations to the families in need who want the best education for their children, the future of PA!

Today I am reminiscing on the great events that took place in Pennsylvania leading up to Americaโs birthday, especially the Senate of Pennsylvaniaโs ceremonial session at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphiaโ just across the street from Independence Hall, where our Founding Fathers declared Americaโs Independence from Britain 250 years ago. ๐บ๐ธโจ
Honored to participate in this great bipartisan event, and to make history, as this was just the 4th Senate meeting that has taken place outside of the State Capitol in Harrisburg. โค๏ธ๐ค๐

Last week, I had the opportunity to meet Kaden, a student from Greater Latrobe Senior High School and congratulate him on his acceptance to the prestigious NASA STEM Enhancement in Earth and Space Science (SEES) Summer Internship at the University of Texas at Austin Center for Space Research. More than 3,000 applications were received for the coveted 118 on-site internship positions.
