November 22, 2016 - The dedication of the Playground of Dreams at the H.W. Good Elementary School in Sewickley Twp. took place. School officials, local officials, parents, major donors, the community and the state all worked together to make the Playground of Dreams come true.
October 5, 2016 - Senator Ward and Representative George Dunbar had a great time reading and interacting with children at J. B.'s Bright Beginnings in Irwin. They toured the facility and discussed the importance of Pre-K Counts and early childhood education.

As a result of Libre's horrific situation brought on by a heartless breeder, Senator Alloway sponsored Libre's Law of which Senator Ward is a Co-Sponsor. The bill will tighten the animal abuse laws by increasing penalties. Presently this type of abuse is only a summary offense. This legislation will not apply to agriculture.

September 28, 2016 - The Manufacturing Caucus (Senator Ward Co-Chair) held a joint meeting with The Economy, Business and Jobs Caucus which gave the opportunity for open discussion to explore reshoring/offshoring ideas, including automation, industrial robotics and 3D printing in terms of the impact on manufacturing and bringing jobs/business back to the Commonwealth of PA and the importance of Manufacturing Week (October 1-7, 2016)

April 13, 2016 - Senator Ward attended a press conference held to announce the introduction of Clean Slate legislation. If enacted, Clean Slate would automatically seal the criminal records of anyone convicted in Pennsylvania of certain low-level, nonviolent misdemeanor crimes and summary offenses once sentencing has been served and the individual has remained crime-free for a certain period of time.
April 13, 2016 - Senator Ward introduced a resolution recognizing April 13th 2016 as ‘Industrial Resource Center Appreciation Day’ in Pennsylvania.
April 11, 2016 - Senator Ward and Senator Alloway received the Benjamin Franklin Medal for Distinguished Achievement on Behalf of Higher Education. This is awarded each year by the Association of Independent Colleges & Universities, and is awarded to individuals or organizations that have made an extraordinary impact on Pennsylvania’s colleges and universities.
April 11, 2016 - Excela Hospital System nurses visited the Capitol and met with Senator Ward to discuss the staffing/ratio issue with concern for the care of their patients.
