June 30, 2015 - The PA Senate & House passed a budget that increases education spending but doesn't raise taxes. Liquor privatization passed. Pension reform that changes all future employees from a defined benefit to a defined contribution, but leaves the current defined benefit system in place for present and retired employees, passed. All by the deadline and all awaiting the governor's signature or veto.

May 12, 2015 - Representative George Dunbar, Victoria Piekut- Miss PA Teen, and her family from North Huntingdon visited Senator Ward. Victoria was diagnosed with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome in 2009 but that didn't stop her. To top it off, she sings opera.
May 6, 2015 -Senator Ward attended the Hunger Caucus groundbreaking ceremony of the 6th season opening of the Capitol Hunger Garden. Since its inception, the garden has annually produced between 700 to 800 pounds of vegetables for low-income residents and approximately 3,700 pounds for the five-year period. The vegetables are donated to food banks, pantries and soup kitchens.

April 17, 2015-Senator Ward visited the children at the Greensburg Head Start Center. They sang her songs and she read them a couple of books and left with lots of high fives and hugs.
March 3, 2015 - Senator Ward attended a Joint Public Hearing of the Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee and the Senate Local Government Committee to hear testimony regarding the positive impacts of Act 13 of 2012-Impact Fee.
